The Life of A Mom

You know you're a mom when....

Lincoln calls to me from the back seat to hold "this" for me.  I, without hesitation, put my hand back to take whatever he has to give me (thinking the whole time it's a toy) and he slaps down a huge bugger in my hand. Sweet.

You are so used to using the bathroom with the door open you do it with company over and don't realize it until your mid-stream.  Luckily the company made no attempts to come in that general direction while I finished up.

When you go to the store to buy size 6 slims...no not for me (I wish) but for my every growing son, Colby that has a bottomless pit of a stomach and remains the skinniest kid around.

Not a Good Idea

You know you're a mom when you look down the stairs to see this and instead of thinking that this looks like fun you think this is a way to break an arm......

Yes, nothing like some steep New England stairs to make me nervous. (Oh, and Katie R. has fallen down them with Wes so I have good reason to be nervous too)

Spring Forward

You know you're a mom when this is the daylight saving time that you like. The other day Katie R. and another friend and I where sitting around talking about our kids sleep schedules.  I asked if this daylight savings time was the good one or the bad one. Katie R. made the very true point that it is the bad one if we were single and out at night but good if you have kids.  In our younger days it sucked to lose that hour in the morning after a night out if we needed to get somewhere and not be hungover. But in the world of children it allows your children to sleep in and keep to push back their sleep schedule so they don't wake up so damn early.  Oh my how times have changed!

You know your a mom when you think "Did my kid just do that?" Yup, Lincoln screamed his freaking head off when we drove by the Dunkin Donuts today and didn’t stop! It’s not like we hadn’t already stopped this morning! Awesome.That's my boy!

You know you're a mom when you point out firetrucks, garbage trucks, bulldozers and farm equipment with an enthusiasm previously held for finding a fabulous pair of shoes.

You know you're a mom when your son tells you that he loves you because you take him to The Home Depot. Clearly I was meant to have boys!

You stop using the word bathroom and only say potty.

You become the poop cushion secret keeper.

 A failed attempt at potty training lead to an accident on the couch and I alone know the cushion it occurred on and will not divulge that information to anyone.
