As our blog continues to grow we will stay true to ourselves and provide more stories to help maintain our sanity in our ever-changing lives.  Thanks again from both of us.

About Both of Us

We could really go on and on about ourselves but we thought it might get tiresome reading our autobiographies.  Instead we wrote a few questions to tell just a little bit more about us.

Where would you like to travel to that you have yet to go?

Katie D:  New Zealand, I've wanted to see the land.

Katie R:  Ireland and/or Scotland.  I think the landscape looks beautiful and seriously a vacation where the primary activity is going to pubs can’t be bad.

What Kardashian sister do you most relate to?
Katie D: Khloe, I'm loud, outspoken and I think I'm right.

Katie R:  I guess I’d go with Kourtney because she is a mom although I’m pretty sure she is never around her kid.

What’s your favorite item in your closet?
Katie D: A very worn but fabulous pair of jeans that make my ass look amazing.

Katie R. My brown boots.  They fit no matter how much I weigh.

What is your favorite book?
Katie D: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin, I've become a hopeless romantic.

Katie R: Gone with the Wind although I really have only read it once.

Tell me your guilty pleasure.
Katie D: Mani/Pedi while watching celebrity gossip television

Katie R: Watching any “Real Housewives “ reality show  and I am also addicted to Diet Mt. Dew.

Describe your family in 3 words.
Katie D: Kind, humorous and fun

Katie R: Happy, funny and obsessive-compulsive (hyphenated words count as one word right?)

How did the two of you meet?
Katie D:  We both went to a new parent support group and hung out with mutual friends but it wasn't until one night out with a group of moms and alcohol that I realized she was fabulous, hilarious and saw life the same way I do.  Everything I say behind her back is everything that I say to her face, she is a true friend.
Katie R: I first remember seeing Katie at a local mom’s group but I don’t remember talking to her until we took a walk with a mutual friend.  I am not sure when we started hanging out regularly but now I’m pretty sure I don’t go a day without  emailing, texting or talking to her; which I’m pretty sure must be freakin’ annoying.

About Katie D.

My adventure starts in Maine. As a true Maniac, I was born and raised in southern Maine; proud of dropping my “r’s” and using wicked as an adjective as much as possible.  While living in fabulous Portland Maine I received my degree in Communication from the University of Southern Maine in 2001.  My husband, Tom and I met on a wild trip to Montreal.  We survived the long distance relationship and were married in 2005 while he lived in Montreal and I in Burlington Vermont. We finally got to live with each other in 2007 when we relocated to the world that is known as the Upper Valley.  Since then I have put my career in retail on hold to raise my incredible boys, Colby 3 and Lincoln 1.

I enjoy cooking, crafting and a good cocktail. Translation, I love to eat, make a mess and enjoy a good beer. The kegerator in my dining room was not a dream of mine but Tom makes a mean homebrew so a girl can’t complain. I drive a big tan van. I’m proud of it! People who knock it have yet to enjoy its full potential! I have one cat, Isis Kitty, the other female in the house and the biggest bed hog I’ve ever known. I run with a fabulous group of friends and they are the lifeline that keeps me sane on a regular basis.

About Katie R.

My journey from a carefree college student at Ohio State to a married wife and mother in the Upper Valley includes living in 3 states, 8 towns, and 10 apartments.   During my gypsy adventures, I have made amazing friends and met my husband Joe.  Joe and I met in a bar and dated long-distance for 2 years before we moved to New England and lived together for another 4 before finally getting married.   It really is every girl’s storybook romance.

In my previous life I was an event planner/fundraiser in Boston.  Now I am a stay-at-home mom who doesn’t like to clean, cook, do crafts or any housewife related activity.  I do however adore my two little monsters, Andrew who is 2 ½ and Wes who is 5 months.

In my mind I am fashion forward, have it all together and am the envy of all my friends.  In reality I wear sweat pants 99% of the time, never leave the house without forgetting something and I am pretty sure my friends think I am a neurotic mess.  To keep my sanity as a stay-at-home mom I rely on my family, friends, Ohio State football and of course a few beers now and then.
